On April 17th, 2015, BAIC Strategic Advisory Commission (referred to as BASC) was officially established in Beijing. This organization, aiming at internationalization of business, is comprised of BAIC’s excellent overseas partners. Wei Huacheng, vice president of BAIC Group, Dong Haiyang, president of BAIC International, and 13 partners from 7 key markets attended the meeting.

The 1st BSAC meeting kicked off in Beijing on the afternoon of April 17. Seven outstanding partners from Philippines, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Nigeria, Chile, Iran, and Kuwait,, as candidates for the commission, expounded on corporate strength, market condition, successful cases of brand cooperation as well as suggestions for BAIC. Afterwards, each commission member signed on the BSAC constitution, and accepted awarding. They voted for the president of the first commission board.

The second-half meeting focused on the policy of “One Belt and One Road”. The policy has been proposed by the Chinese President Xi Jinping, which is a philosophy and proposal of cooperative development. It relies on the existing bilateral and multilateral mechanism between China and the relevant countries, utilizing the effective regional cooperation platform to proactively develop the economic partnership with the countries along the road with help of the historic symbol of the ancient “Silk Road”.

The participants discussed the relationship between the relevant countries and the policy of “One Belt and One Road”, as well as the policy’s impact on the local automobile industry and suggestions for BAIC. Wei Huacheng, vice president of BAIC Group, called on all countries to pay attention to the policy of “One Belt and One Road”. He emphasized that China has abundant foreign exchanges at present, and the policy of “One Belt and One Road” will change the development mode with the other countries. BAIC should deepen cooperation with other countries and seek common development.

After the meeting, the partners visited BAIC Shanghai Experience Store, and attended the release conference of BAIC in Auto Shanghai. They expressed great interest for the conceptual system of BAIC Internet of Vehicles and new energy vehicles.

On April 20, the 1st BSAC meeting concluded successfully. Establishment of BSAC enables BAIC to set up a normalized communication platform with the veteran overseas partners, to form up the partnership culture, to share successful experience, to stipulate scientific policies, to realize mutual benefit and common progress, and to set up a win-win sharing platform between BAIC and partners. In the future, BSAC is prepared to join hand with more partners to undertake more significant projects, to discuss internationalization of business and to set up a win-win cooperation.
