On August 31, the Information Office of the People’s Government of Beijing and the Press Center for Commemoration of the 70th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-fascist War organized domestic and foreign journalists to visit and interview Beijing’s model high-end manufacturer BAIC Group (BAIC) and its joint venture Beijing Benz Manufacturing Base. A total of over 50 journalists visited BAIC. The event received warm response.

The interview themed “Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and World Anti-Fascist War” fell into six categories including commemoration of victory of Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, Beijing manufacturing , Winter Olympic Games, etc. As one of Fortune Global 500 and China’s top eight manufacturers, BAIC became the only representative of the survey themed Beijing Manufacturing Industry.

The visit to Beijing Benz MRAI Plant is the emphasis of the event. “Beijing Benz MRAI Plant is the largest monometer-structured project of Asia in the auto industry, which consumed steel three times as much as the Eiffel Tower consumed to reinforce the plant base, thus ensuing process accuracy.” Most procedures of the plant have been highly automated. After vehicle assembly, technologists look over details according to Daimler’s standards to ensure that every vehicle released by Beijing Benz is identical to Mercedes-Benz in terms of brand and quality.

To meet the development requirement, BAIC has established a new technology research institute for R & D of new technologies such as lightweighting and intelligentization, transformed, upgraded and restructured its business model through “Internet plus”, and brought “Made-in-Beijing” to the stage of the world, so as to contribute to “Made-in-China”.
